I just haven’t gotten aroudn to doing that on this blog yet. But I am totally aBlog Stalker ( I need one of Becker’s shirts…[B]log Stalker) and my google reader page is only photography blogs. Ok, yes I’m obsessed. All I can hope for is to be as good as them one day.I know I learn just by looking.

In Overdrive!

Wow! I totally feel like I’m in overdrive lately. If you haven’t noticed I’m trying hard to make the “photography” thing more official! It all started with the release of my updated website. (www.micheleschankerphotography.com) I’m really taking things to the next level. My emotions are all over the place. I’m totally excited about all the possibilities and opportunities, but at the same time I’m a bit scared. Why scared – probably because I don’t quite know what’s in store for me. There are the possibilities of becoming overwhelmed or missing quality time with my husband that add to that feeling. So I’m going along for the ride and we’ll see how things turn out.

Ever since the website release, I’ve been working on things feverishly! Every night I come home from work and have some new idea I want to work on. You know paperwork stuff…like contracts, etc.. I have a long list of stuff I’d like to accomplish this weekend. I even joined WPPI which is something I’ve been wanting to do. I haven’t decided about PPA yet. I also created free listings on superpages, yellowpages, and wedding wire. Now I just need to figure out how to get my name out there somehow. Anyway, it’s all coming together and its exciting and a bit scary, but something I think I will really love.

For now, here’s a photo take in La Jolla, CA last weekend. My friend and I ventured into the water with our cameras. Yeah I know, risky , huh. But I was very careful and there were no waves.

Urban Workshop!

I haven’t posted in a while, but hopefully should have some shoots coming soon. I know there will be an engagement session soon, and probably a few others.

I’m totally stoked about a workshop I’m planning on taking in the LA area in July. Something that I don’t see offered to much in my area is Urban Photography and I love it! How cool. I am a big admirer of “out of the box thinking” when it comes to photography. Something besides parks, beaches, and flower gardens. So I have decided to take an Urban Workshop and get my creative juices flowing. Hopefully I can apply things I learn to engagements, children, seniors, etc…Not only is the photographer going to show how she goes about shooting urban photos, but also lighting, photoshop techniques, etc…so I’m hoping to get a lot out of this workshop. Check out some of her urban style photographes here. So any potential clients in the antelope valley that are looking for urban style photos, check back with me after July.
