Nebeker Family Reunion

July 24, 2008

So I said I was working on another sideshow capability. I am now the proud owner of ShowIt. Click here to see my new slideshow from the Nebeker Family Reunion.

I am having problems getting this to post directly to my blog post as it should. So hopefully with the updated blog, that will work better.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of shooting with Jaime Lapeyrolerie of Beloved Photography. She was in need of a second shooter for the day, so I went down to the Glendora Country Club to give her a hand! It was a hot, but great day. Usually as I drive down the hill from Lancaster, the temps decrease. But I swear this weekend they went up as I drove down there. My car registered about 103 or so by the time I reached Glendora. So they say rain on your wedding day is good luck, hopefully heat waves are too! The wedding was absolutely gorgeous. It took place on hole number one and the bridal party drove golf carts in! The couple did an excellent job, especially with the flowers….lots of calla lilies!

Here a few photos from the day. Enjoy! I have a lot I want to share, so check back later in the day, as I will probably post some more.

I  love this photo…I saw the sun there and decided to whip out my fish eye and see if could catch a sunburst

And One More…

For some reason I couldn’t get these to show up in the last post. It’s also from session 1.

Shelbert Family

May 25, 2008

This past weekend I had an awesome opportunity to shoot 6 or 7 mini sessions in Santa Barbara. But not only did I get shoot a ton of photos, but I got to see my cousin, his wife Jaime, and their son Foster. We always love going to see them. I have so many photos to go through and I will be posting more later. But for now here’s a few I took at the very end of the day of Tyler and Jaime, while Dave babysat Foster.

Spreading The Word

May 23, 2008

I found this on open source photo today: A photographer in Santa Barbara is looking to give back to the community. She wants to offer free shoots for deployed military personnel on an occasional basis. I think its a great idea, and one that I had kind of thought about myself since I live near a base and work with many ex-military people. So I wanted to help spread the word about Operation: I Love You. if you are a photographer and your looking for a way to give back to your community, check out the info on her blog and send her an email.

My husband and I will be doing this in September.

We just go the news today and I am so excited. A backpacking trip down the Grand Canyon! Just had to share, but you’ll have to wait until Sep to see any photos.

Another Workshop!

May 15, 2008

Well with my first “real” wedding quickly approaching and an email I received yesterday. I’ve decided to enroll in another workshop. I’ll be attending this in June. If your a photographer, and this looks interesting to you,  the workshop is coming to many cities in the US. I only plan on going to the Shoot it session in June 19th. I’m totally excited and hope to learn a lot. It’s only 4 weeks before Sarah and Brandon’s wedding so everything should stay pretty fresh.

New Web Site

January 5, 2008

Yeah. I’m so excited. I will finally have my own website for all my photoshoots real soon. It’s in the works. But I’m doing it all myself, and I don’t know know html, so just bare with me and it will be up and running real soon.

The new site is www.micheleschankerphotography.com

You can check it out, but keep in mind that it is a work in progress.
